After this task of location scouting, I felt that the lighting I needed to create the mood I wanted within the film was way too dark and completely puts at risk the quality and resolution of my film. I also believe that the time-frame I set myself was very unrealistic and inadequate as I wanted to capture 'the magic hour' lighting which only really lasted for 45 minutes, which although seems long enough to shoot a range of shots, it is not as a lot of setting up is to be done before each shot. Also when shooting in the dark it creates a huge distortion in the quality of the shots and makes the media product look amateurish, which isn't what I am looking to display my work as. Therefore after doing this task it has helped me to evaluate my first story synopsis once more and realize that the mood created by the dark atmosphere isn't an option for my film and that I would continue the story to a sense, but with different lighting that is easier to film and leaves me a bigger time-frame and so I would use broad day-light. This leads me to a new type of background story although still keeps the characters the same with the man being creepy with 'good intentions' and the girl being a 'lost-cause' and needing the help of the man. When talking to Mr.Becker about the new lighting situation, what was discussed was that the girl could have had an argument and is left stranded in the middle of nowhere and falls asleep, the guy walks over into her eye path and creates the same creepiness in the first draft due to little dialogue and a lot of non-diegetic sound creating tension. In the resolution, the man offers to take her home, she agrees, she get's taken home and the man ends the film by taking a picture of her house.

Location Scouting: Location 1 - Lighting and Evaluation
