Industrial Film Scripts

Why is this structure so well-known/used?

  • It can be understood by everyone because they are used to it.
  • So that the script can be broken down for:
    • Budgeting
    • Scheduling time

We start with a title page
For example:

I.O.U

Rachel Wallis

Every page has the title at the top of the page. i.e "I.O.U"

Starts with: FADE IN:

The slug line/scene heading is written in one way only: Capitalized font, INT./EXT., where is the scene? (CHANGING ROOM), time? (DAY/NIGHT)

For Example: INT. CHANGING ROOM - DAY

The action paragraph:

Character Name (i.e GIRL #1 or GIRL #2 etc.)

CHARACTER NAME - DIALOGUE - ACTION
