FADE IN:
INT. CAR - DAY
GUY #1 is driving through a country road at mid-day listening to american country music. He notices a roaring argument and it seems strange to him as the road is so quite and secluded, that seeing this couple on the side of the road interest him. He slows his car down so that he can spy on the argument. The couple are throwing their hands about and getting in each others faces. He takes a particular interest towards the girl and watches her as she behaves with animal-like characteristics with the increase in her body size because of her arms flailing above her head and her mouth shouting with a possessive rhythm. The guy drives past the couple as they're completely oblivious to their surroundings. GUY #1 parks his car further up the road and watches them through the wing-mirror.
EXT. ROAD - DAY
The 18 year old girl runs back towards GUY #2 car, but the guy drags her away from the car and pushes her. She runs back towards GUY #2 again, but this time he punches her in the face, she falls to the floor and in panic GUY #2 rushes into his car and drives off.
INT. CAR - DAY
GUY #1 watching from the wing-mirror of his car is not bothered at all and doesn't flinch towards the punch. He lounges back on his seat and starts to make origami.
EXT. ROAD - DAY
GIRL #1 is left unconscious and abandoned in the middle of nowhere.
BLACK SCREEN
EXT. ROAD - DAY
GIRL #1 is awoken by bulky black shoes coming towards her.
GUY #1 offers GIRL #1 a blanket and a flask of hot chocolate and then he walks back to his car that is parked up in front of her. She is confused at the overwhelming kindness of the man and therefore creates suspicions and she begins to act hesitant. She searches the flask for foul play and although doesn't initially find anything, she decides against drinking it.
Whilst GIRL #1 is suspecting foul play, GUY #1 opens the passenger door of his car and walks back to her as she sits curled up in a ball with the blanket wrapped around her and flask in her hand. He towers over her and attempts to help her up by offering a hand that she at first hesitates towards because the fear of the unknown. She analysis's him quickly so that he doesn't become too insulted. He notices but he isn't bothered by her curiosity and so the offer still remains. She believes in his intentions and doesn't want to insult his kindness. Therefore she quickly takes his hand and gets up.
GUY #1 ushers GIRL #1 to the car and she seems willing but cautious to the situation. She repeatedly glances at him timidly and then decides to open the flask, smell the inside and take a sip of it. She stays watching his every move, observing as much as she can but begins to feel dizzy and looks towards the floor as her weightless neck swings her head like a pendulum.
GIRL #1
Urm...
GUY #1
Home?
GIRL #1 pauses and looks at GUY #1 and then looks at the car. Then she looks around and remembers she is in the middle of nowhere.
GIRL #1
If that's OK? I can give you directions.
INT. CAR - DAY
GIRL #1 sits in the car and looks around nervously with thoughts that she knows this could go bad, but believes in good intentions of GUY #1. She starts looking around his car and notices a car freshener swinging from the rear-view mirror, another flask in the cup-holder of the driver door, scrunched up used tissues and Polaroid paper packaging on the floor, where her feet are. She starts to investigate further and scattered in the back-seats of the car are a couple brown box's, duct tape, string, pencils and screwed-up paper. As she is looking, GUY #1 opens the door and she quickly turns around to sit in her seat normally, hoping he didn't notice.
GUY #1 starts up the car and the radio begins to blast country music.
GUY #1 stays stationary and looks at GIRL #1. She looks back in awkwardness as the guy is holding a willful stare beyond her shoulder, so she follows his eye path that seemingly leads to the unlocked door lock.
GUY #1
Are you forgetting something?
GIRL #1
What?
GUY #1
Your belt.
GIRL #1 politely plugs in her belt and GUY #1 drives off.
BLACK SCREEN
INT. CAR - DAY
She is interested to learn more about the guy, so she decides to question his origami that she saw in the back seat by complementing him on how cool it is.
GIRL #1
Your origami in the back seat is so cool!
GUY #1
It's my sons.
She is surprised at what he said and so the atmosphere in the car is silent. She begins to feel a bit more relaxed and safer so she nudges her head slightly towards him but in embarrassment of her assumptions, she decides not to speak. She still has to direct him, so she says.
GIRL #1
This left here.
GUY #1 carries on straight and takes a right. GIRL #1 looks at him and he looks back, smiles and stops the car.
GUY #1
Just a moment.
EXT. ROAD - DAY
The guy gets out the car, slides around to the boot and rummages through it.
INT. CAR - DAY
GIRL #1 has a moment of numb nervousness, but is quickly shaken by a loud bang of the man’s car boot shutting.
EXT. ROAD - DAY
The man locks the car and goes to knocks on the door of the house.
INT. CAR - DAY
She see's the man is walking towards the house and begins to fear for her safety, therefore she starts searching the car for a weapon or an escape route and looks towards the drivers seat and in the pockets behind the seats and then looks out the window to the wing-mirror to see if anyone is around to help and then finally she rummages through the glove box where she see's a pile of Polaroids that she decides to look through. But before she could look through them properly, she starts to feel drowsy and everything seems to be moving a lot slower. She notices the man is coming back towards the car and is only able to see a couple of pictures that are of houses and nothing more. She hurriedly tidies them up as he gets back into the car. But slurs nothing but murmurs as she falls in and out of consciousness. He gets in the car and turns it around to go back down the road towards her house. She is still slipping in and out of consciousness and so she aggressively murmurs.
GIRL #1
This right here please. It's the house just at the bottom of the road, please.
BLACK SCREEN
EXT. ROAD - DAY
She awakes to the sight of her house, she looks to the right of her to see if it was a dream. But it wasn't and the guy was still there, she rubs her head in confusion of how she made it home as she doesn't remember giving the guy directions. She gets outs and then thanks the man before walking off confused.
INT. CAR - DAY
The man smiles and watches her walk to her door, before taking a picture of her house with a Polaroid camera.
