A 20 year old guy is driving along a country road listening to american country music at mid-day and notices a couple arguing at the side of the road and decides to park (before he reaches them and watches them through his front window) (further up the road - watches through the wing-mirror). The 18 year old girl having the argument with her boyfriend, hits him and he gets in his car to drive off whilst abandoning her in the middle of nowhere. The 20 year old guy starts making origami and switches between focusing on his origami and watching the girl as she walks around clueless and begins to sulk with her head in her hands. Then she retreats to deflating on the grass next to the road-side in loss of all hopes and soon becomes restless as she begins to drift into sleep.
She is woken up by bulky black shoes coming towards her, she is offered a blanket and he walks back to his car parked up in front of her. The man opens the passengers door and walks back to her to offer a hand that she at first hesitates towards but in embarrassment of the situation quickly takes and gets up. He points her to the car and she seems willing but cautious to the situation. She begins to give him strange looks but doesn’t say anything and looks down.
Dialogue from the girl (‘urm...’)
Dialogue from the guy (‘I can take you home.’)
She pauses and looks at him and then looks at the car. Then she looks around and remembers she is in the middle of nowhere, she graciously answers.
Dialogue from the girl (‘if that’s ok? I can give you directions.’)
She sits in the car and looks around nervously with thoughts that she knows this could go bad, but believes in the good intentions of the man. Now that the girl is in his passenger seat of the car, he goes to the boot of his car where he opens it and places the blanket on top of some of his gardening tools. The girl has a moment of numb nervousness, but is shaken by a loud bang of the man’s car boot shutting. The man starts up the car and the radio begins to blast country music as the girl goes to thank the man. The man says stays stationary and looks at her. She looks back in awkwardness. He unplugs his seat-belt viciously, looks at her, reaches for her seat-belt and plugs it in. He plugs his seat-belt back in and then begins to drive off.
She nudges her head slightly towards him and opens her mouth but decides not to speak.
The girl says 'this left here'
But the man carries on straight and takes a right. He stops outside a house and says 'I won't be a moment'. The man takes the keys and goes and knocks on the door of the house. The girl panics as she looks around the car and then looks into the wing-mirror down the road and then the man comes towards the car with the guy and goes to the boot to give him some gardening equipment. The man gets back in the car and turns around to go back down the road towards her house and she asks if the origami she sees in the back seat is his and complements him but he explains that it is his sons origami. She said 'this right here and it's the house just at the bottom of the road please' and they arrive outside her house where she gets out and thanks the man before walking off happily. The man smiles and watches her before taking a picture of her house.
